Tarot spreads

A tarot spread gives each card a position so the cards are not a pile of meanings. VeilReader uses three: a one-card daily draw, a three-card Past / Present / Future line, and a 10-card Celtic Cross.

One card tarot

A one card tarot reading is the smallest spread: one position, one focus. People use it as a daily tarot draw or as a yes-or-no question. The card’s name and whether it is upright or reversed are the whole layout. There is no second card to argue with the first.

Past, present, future

The three-card spread VeilReader offers for free in the app is a line of three positions:

1. Past. What is already in motion, or the condition you are walking out of.
2. Present. The live pressure, choice, or resource.
3. Future. The direction if the present keeps its current shape. It is a trajectory, not a locked fate.

Read the line left to right, then look for a card that refuses the story the other two are telling. That disagreement is usually the useful part.

Celtic Cross tarot

Celtic Cross tarot is a 10-card spread for a situation that will not fit in one or three cards. VeilReader’s Premium reading uses that size. A common traditional layout, the one people mean when they search for the spread, assigns the cards like this:

1. Present. The heart of the matter as it stands.
2. Crossing. What leans against the present, for better or worse.
3. Foundation. Older ground under the question.
4. Recent past. What is leaving, or just behind you.
5. Crown. The aim, the best available face, or what is on your mind.
6. Near future. The next development, still close in.
7. Self. How you are meeting the situation.
8. Environment. Other people, the room, the context.
9. Hopes and fears. The outcome you are bracing for or wishing toward. Those two often share a card.
10. Outcome. Where the spread lands if the pattern holds. A later choice can still move it.

Read the cross (cards 1–6) before the staff (cards 7–10). If the outcome card clashes with the near future, the staff is telling you the longer arc is not the same as next week.
