The Fool tarot card means a beginning taken before the plan is finished. In the Rider–Waite–Smith picture a traveler steps toward a cliff with a small dog at his heels, a white rose in one hand, and a bindle over his shoulder. Readers treat it as a willing leap, not as carelessness by itself.

Upright, The Fool is the zero point of the Major Arcana: nothing is settled yet, and that is the point. The card favors a first step, a new route, or a skill you do not already own.
